Excelo Appliance was started in Moose Jaw in 1946 by a gentleman from Calgary. He owned and operated 7 stores across Western Canada including stores in Calgary, Lethbridge, Moose Jaw, Regina, Winnipeg and Red Deer. Over the years each store was sold off to local entrepreneurs with Excelo Appliance being the last store he owned. 

In 1976 long time manager of Excelo, Gord Couzens passed away and long time employee Don Dawson, became Manager. Don had started at Excelo as a "winter" job in 1958. In 1979 Don bought the store. His son, Jerry was hired to lend a hand when Gord had become ill in 1976. Jerry worked for Don until he purchased Excelo from him in 1994.

In 1986 Linda, Jerry’s wife, was brought in part time to do books and shortly there after began working full time at all aspects of sales and parts and office management. 

In 1996 Jerry and Linda determined Moose Jaw and area was lacking a good quality Mattress Store. They opened Undercoverz Sleep Shop in the old location of Fysh’ Drug Store. Business was good enough that 1 year later, July 1, 1997, they purchased the Fanny’s Fabrics building at 55 First Ave. N.E. and moved both businesses together. 

Jerry and Linda continue on the tradition of selling quality products, at reasonable prices!
